Venturing

Venturing Leaders

As a Venturing leader, you owe it to the youth members you mentor to learn as much as you can about Scouting and how to coach your crew.

Three Steps to "100% Trained" for Venturing Leaders

Safety first! Scouting America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. Every adult must be current in Youth Protection Training (sometimes called “YPT” for short).

You may take Youth Protection Training in a self-paced online course through the Boy Scouts of America’s national web training center called My.Scouting.org.

The training must be renewed every year.

This training discusses how to manage risks from the weather to our Scouting family.

You may take Hazardous Weather Training in a self-paced online course through the Boy Scouts of America’s national web training center called My.Scouting.org.

The training must be renewed every two years.

Venturing Advisor Training

This course will give you an introduction to everything you need to know about being an Advisor, from helping the crew President and other youth leaders run the program to working with the crew Committee.

You may take Advisor-Specific Training in a self-paced online course through Scouting America’s national web training center called My.Scouting.org.

Scoutmaster-Specific Training does not expire.

Crew Committee Challenge Training

This course introduces you to everything you need to know about running the “business side” of your crew, in conjunction with the Advisor. It won’t answer every single question you have, but it’s a great start.

You may take Crew Committee Challenge Training in a self-paced online course through the Boy Scouts of America’s national web training center called My.Scouting.org.

Crew Committee Challenge Training does not expire.
